Meet Your Host and Co-Hosts
Marlene M. Maheu, PhD
Dr. Marlene M. Maheu is the Executive Director of the Telehealth.org, Founder of the Journal for Technology in Behavioral Science (JTiBS), and Founder / CEO of its supporting organization, the Coalition for Technology in Behavioral Science (CTiBS). For almost 30 years, her focus has been on telehealth legal & ethical risk management & compliance. She has developed more than 100 hours of digitized telebehavioral health training for both private and consumer audiences, housed at Telehealth.org.
Dr. Maheu has served on a dozen professional association committees, task forces, and workgroups related to establishing standards and guidelines for telebehavioral health. She has written 40+ peer-reviewed telehealth book chapters and journal articles and is the lead author of five telehealth textbooks. She gives telehealth keynotes, training, consulting, and staffing.
Shawna Wright, PhD
Dr. Shawna Wright is the Associate Director of KU’s Center for Telemedicine & Telehealth. She is a licensed psychologist who established an independent telepsychology practice in 2011. Dr. Wright has expertise with treating rural and underserved populations, and regularly advocates for telehealth expansion to increase behavioral health access and equity in her home state of Kansas. She serves on several statewide committees as a telehealth expert.
Dr. Wright enjoys telehealth training and consultation with a wide variety of professional groups.
Allison Crawford, MD
Dr. Allison Crawford is a psychiatrist and the Associate Chief of Virtual Mental Health and Outreach at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and Associate Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry, and Dalla Lana School of Public Health, at the University of Toronto. She is the Chief Medical Officer of the Canada Suicide Prevention Service; and a Founder and Co-Chair of ECHO Ontario (www.echoontario.ca), an award-winning, virtual community of practice.
Her research focuses on access, quality, and equity in virtual care.
